David Franklin Dunn was born Nov. 27, 1838 in Amite Co., MS and died July 31, 1921 in Winnfield, LA. He was the oldest of ten children born to the union of John Dunn and Cloey Ann Strange, who married in Amite Co., MS on Dec. 21, 1837. He and his wife, Lizzie, were the parents of two sons, Charles C. Dunn and Horace Clinton Dunn, and two daughters, Florence M. Dunn Culpepper and Henrietta Dunn Levan.
