Sarah Mildred "Sallie" Waller Thompson is buried under her maiden name. Her marriage to Hooley Thompson who died in 1938 was not a happy one. They had three children. They were John Martin, Ethel Alice and George LeRoy Because her marriage was a tragic and terrible expierance the family did not want his last name on her tombstone. She died of Pneumonia and at that time she was living with her mother Louisa "Eliza" Moore and her son John Martin Thompson. George LeRoy her other son died as a baby. She was born in either St. Louis county or St Charles County. MO. I have conflicting information. She is buried next to her sister Mattie Mae Waller Fields and her brother-in-law J. Warren Fields.
