Joseph M. Jacoby, 88, of Waterloo, died Monday, August 8, at his home.
He was born August 11, 1922, in Earling, son of Hubert and Lena Bessin Jacoby.
He married Delores Langenfeld August 5, 1947, in Earling. He received his B.A. from Creighton University. He was a US Army veteran, serving in WWII, as an Air Force pilot.
Joseph was an accountant for Schield Bantam in Waverly, Hinson Manufacturing in Waterloo and Noble Industries in Sac City, retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodger (Linda) Jacoby of Cedar Falls and Richard Jacoby of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Faye (Dan) Traeger of Florida and Ann Folkers of Waterloo; a son-in-law, Jon Hamilton of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Kelly Broten, Jodie Gleeson, Abbey Hayes, Aimee Jacoby, Laurie Traeger, Brett Folkers, Shawn Jacoby and Ben Jacoby; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Haley and Alissa Broten; Caleb and Amber Hayes, Ella Norton and Adelyn Gleeson; four sisters, Mercie Tilton of Sioux City, Severa Pauley of Omaha, Neb., Marjorie Anhalt and Lucille Allen of Calif.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Hamilton; two sisters, Benny Jacoby and Marie Klein and two brothers, Bill and Leander Jacoby.
