Lingering Illness Fatal To Retired Farmer
George F. Garrett, 69, of 3204 Illinois Avenue, Maple Park, died Tuesday night at the residence after a lingering illness of a year and a half.
A resident of Middletown the last 14 years, he came here upon retiring as a farmer in Kentucky. He joined the Baptist Church in Kentucky, never transferring his membership to a local church.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Anna Garrett; four sons, Clark Garrett of West Middletown, Dewey and James B. Garrett of Middletown Route Two, and Ellison Garrett, of Middletown; and a brother, Clark Garrett, of Lexington, Ky.
The funeral will be held at the residence at 2pm Friday. The Rev. Harry Sinks, of the Dayton United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Poast Town Cemetery. Friends will be received at the residence after 7pm Wednesday.
