REEDER, SANDRA JANE CARTER - age 37 of Oneida, Tenn. and formerly of Barbourville, Ky. passed away Tuesday, November 21, at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Born in Barbourville, Ky., January 30, 1963, she was the daughter of Clevis and Darla Jane Faulkner Carter.


She was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Oneida. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Education from Union College in Barbourville and taught school in the Oneida Special School District for 10 years.


She was a member of the National, Tenn., and Oneida Education Assoc. and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sandra was led by the Lord to minister to youth through teaching, youth activities and choir at the First Baptist Church in Barbourville and the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, Tenn. Sandra loved to express her faith and love for the Lord through singing his praises.


She is survived by her mother and father, Clevis and Darla Jane Faulkner Carter of Barbourville; her husband, Bill Reeder of Oneida who is the 4-H Agent in Scott County, Tenn.; three brothers, David Carter and wife, Kathy of Lexington, Ky, Tim Carter and wife, Cindy and Dr. Richard Carter and wife, Jackie all of Barbourville, Ky.; two grandmothers, Janie Carter of Barbourville, Ky., and Nancy Faulkner of Lexington, Ky.; mother and father in law, Kathy and Andy Starr of Sunbright, Tenn. and William Reeder, Sr. and wife, Kim of Dayton, Ohio; and her beloved cat, Tobey. She also leaves many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services in her hometown of Barbourville will be conducted Friday November 24, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Barbourville with Rev. M.A. Reece and Rev. Shane Nickel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Funeral services in Oneida will be conducted Friday, November 24 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Hone with Rev. Gene Bond officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 8 p.m. at Jones & Son Funeral Home.


Graveside services will be conducted Saturday November 25 at 11 a.m. at the Mount Vernon United Methodist Cemetery in Burrville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of the following: the New Haven Baptist Church Youth Ministry, American Cancer Society, Oneida Middle School Sandra Reeder Scholarship Fund or the Oneida Elementary School 4-H Scholarship Fund.
