Osborne "Blackie" Eston Blackerby was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Groveton. He served in the Army during World War II in Europe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Boyt Shores, in 1993.
Survivors: Son, Rodney Blackerby Sr.; daughters, Rosanne Vaughan and Linda Ballew; grandchildren, Wendy Ballew Esposito, Chris Vaughan, Rodney Blackerby Jr. and Clayton Sanders; great-granddaughter, Jaqueline Louise Vaughan; sisters-in-law, Mary Blackerby and Linda Sellers Blackerby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
