Benjamin Gabriel 'Bennie' Roeder, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 after a long illness. He was born July 27, 1919 in Shiner, Texas to W. J. and Albina Krenek Roeder. He was the manager of the Petronila Grain Elevator for 40 years and retired in 1991. He married Marguerite Hercek on October 21, 1945 in Robstown. Bennie was President of the Corpus Christi Grain Exchange from 1970 until 1973 and was President of the South Texas Country Grain Elevator Association in 1976-1977.

He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Marguerite; his daughter, Nancy (Tom) Guernsey of Houston, Texas; his son, Ben Roeder of Galveston, Texas; granddaughter, Laura Guernsey (Richard) Cano of Houston, Texas; great grandson, Sean Gabriel Cano of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown with Rev. Dale Craig as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park
