Georgia Mae Nuzum, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Paramount Baptist Church with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Georgia was born Aug. 9, 1928, in Grenville, N.M., to George and Vera Hall. She graduated in 1947 from Grenville High School.

She moved to Amarillo and was employed by GE Jones Electric, where she met her future husband, Robert Alan Nuzum. They married on Feb. 27, 1953, in Clayton, N.M., and resided in Amarillo. They owned and operated RANCO Communications on Western Street for 20 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Nuzum; a daughter, Sharon Bridges; her parents; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; two daughters, Cynthia Nuzum and Judy Philley, both of Amarillo; two grandsons, Shane Nuzum and wife Londa and Aaron Nuzum and wife Monica, all of Amarillo; four granddaughters, Amber Henson, Alisha Corbet and husband Danny, Jennifer Philley and Rachel De La Garza, all of Amarillo; five great-grandchildren of Amarillo; a sister, Ima Jean Wiseman of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four brothers, John Hall and wife Margaret of Lake Palestine, Jackie Hall and wife Donna of Raton, N.M., Larry Hall and wife Sherry of Irving, and Jerry Hall and wife Janice of DeSoto.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 8110 Santa Fe Trail after the services.
