Barbara Foulger Curtis, 87, died peacefully on May 25, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Janet White, in Orem, Utah.

She was born November 17, 1916, in Ogden, Utah, to David Burton and Esther Evans Foulger.

She married Von R. Curtis on August 22, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, in a ceremony performed by David O. McKay, counselor in the First Presidency. They lived in Bountiful, Ogden, North Brigham City (Harper), and Orem.
Von died November 4, 1995.

Barbara graduated from Ogden High in 1935 and attended Weber College where she was a member of LaDianeda Sorority.

She started her life-long interest in theater at Madison Elementary in Ogden. She was active in drama productions and readings at Ogden High, Weber College, and community theater in Ogden and Brigham City.

Barbara was a story teller for children at community and church activities. She enjoyed singing in a ladies' trio and community chorale.

She was a charter member of the Utah Association of Women and a member of the Women's Legislative Council and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Barbara was active in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including president of the Relief Society and Young Women, drama director, music and choir leader, and teacher in each of the auxiliaries. She served an LDS mission in the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission with her husband in 1988-89.

She worked at Thiskol during the 1960's and later at the Ogden IRS Center for nine years.

Her children and their spouses are: V. Alan (Carolyn) Curtis, South Jordan; Stuart (Mary Jean) Curtis, South Jordan, Utah; Glen (Nancy) Curtis, Tremonton, Utah; Diane (Ed) Bridge, Orem, Utah; Janet (Richard) White, Orem, Utah; and Richard (Denise) Curtis, Pleasant View, Utah. She has 36 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one brother, Ken (Marvel) Foulger,San Jose, California.

She was preceded in death by her older sister and brother, Rachel Foulger Magdol and Walton Foulger.

Interment will be held May 28, 2004 in the Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Utah.
