Elva Louise DeVault, 81, Nashville, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 at Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. DeVault, born July 25, 1920 in Gadsden, Alabama, was the daughter of the late Jim and Ella Baker Burns. She was a homemaker. The funeral was held at McDonald Funeral Home on Monday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m. with Kyle Conner officiating. Burial was in the Swiss Cemetery in Hohenwald. She is survived by her husband, John Edward DeVault; a son, Don Edward DeVault of Nashville; two daughters, Judy Gayle (Carl) Maxwell and Cathy Sue DeVault of Nashville; a brother, Cecil Burns, Hobart, Indiana; two grandsons, Carl Kevin (Teresa) Maxwell of Olmstead, Kentucky and John Steven (Sherrie) Maxwell of Rockvale; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Maxwell of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Andrew and Britney Ann Maxwell of Olmstead, Kentucky; Nathaniel Hunter Maxwell of Rockvale; and Autumn Rayne Hunt of Nashville.
