He was a member of the Knights of St. John and St. Joseph Orphans Society. At the time of his death he was living at 1173 Berkley Square. He was survived by his son, Melvin, who is buried on the lot with John and Veronica. He was also survived by sisters Louise Ridgeway of St. Petersburg, FL and Mary Montgomery and Catherine Carpenter; and by brothers Fred of Chicago and Bernard and Ted of Louisville. John was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church.
