JAN. 21, 1908 - AUG. 1, 1999 RALEIGH- Elizabeth Pullen Belvin Jones , 91, a native of Raleigh, died peacefully in her lovely home on Sunday, August 1, 1999.
Pullen was born in Raleigh on Jan.

21, 1908. She is the last descendent of the Pullen family to bear the Pullen name. She was the great niece of Richard Stanhope Pullen who donated the land on which N.C. State University and Pullen Park stand today.

Pullen graduated from Raleigh High School and Meredith College.

After graduating she moved to Florence, SC where she taught elementary school for 20 years. As part of continuing her education during her teaching years she traveled extensively throughout the world, particularly in the Pacific Rim countries and Northern Europe. Afer returning to Raleigh she worked for Southern School Supply Co., prior to her marriage to William N.H. Jones , who preceded her in death. She was a member of Millbrook United Methodist Church, the D.A.R., and the Tuesday Afternoon Book Club.

Pullen is survived by two brothers, William L. Belvin of Raleigh and Dan. L. Belvin of Silver Springs, MD; sister-in-law, Margaret Green Belvin of Raleigh; nephew, William Belvin Jr. and his wife, Gayle of Columbia, SC; niece, Jeanne Robinson of Mount Pleasant, SC; nephew, Charles Belvin and his wife, Patti of Sylmar, CA; nephew, William S. Belvin and his wife, Christy of Amherst, NH.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Millbrook United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's St.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to consider making memori- al contributions to Millbrook U.M.C.
