Deceased was born in England, Nov. 3, 1822, and came to this county in 1862. For thirty years he had been a faithful Christian and a member of the M.E. church. For a number of years, he had been leader of a class and was always faithful to his trust.
He died very suddenly, but, with a smile, met and conquered the late enemy. He was respected and loved by all his neighbors and is sincerely mourned by all. A large family mourn not as those with our hope.

Contributor Audrey Quinn Porter∼John Alderson was born in England November 9, 1822. He married Elizabeth Thompson in England in 1847. Before leaving England he and his wife were blessed with five children. Johnathan, Thomas, Alice, James, and George. They left for the United States in 1862 eventually residing in Wisconsin where their daughter Elizabeth was born. Again they moved to Illnois where their two sons John and William were born. After three years they moved back to Wisconsin where their last child a daughter Lucinda was born. He died December 27, 1876.
