Milford was born to James Robert "Bud" Allison & Nancy J. Cooke, after his mother died at his birth he was raised by his Uncle James Thadas Cooke and his wife and he was given the name of Cooke
Milford served in the US Marines in the Pacific Theater, were he made several invasion and was an unknown hero. After he was discharged from the Marines he attended college and was a teacher & coach severing in several school. He married Bethel Townley on May 25, 1942 in Penascola, Escambia Co., FL
