A. Q. Eslick Dies at 64

Mr. Audrey Q. Eslick, 64, manager of the Lehigh Valley Co-op Telephone association, died at 10:25 Wednesday evening at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge, following a heart attack suffered earlier in the evening at Lehigh.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Duane R. Voas and with burial in the Oakwood cemetery near Stratford where graveside military services will be held.

Audrey Q. Eslick, son of the Rev. Simpson and Jennie Eslick, was born March 28, 1902, on a farm near Homer, Iowa. When he was a small boy, he moved with his parents to the Madrid, Iowa, community, where he attended school and where he was graduated from high school.

Following his graduation, he was employed as the first mail carrier at Madrid. He was later employed by the Railway Mail Service. He later attended the former Des Moines university being graduated from there in pharmaceutical chemistry. He attended the University of Minnesota where he took advanced training in pharmaceutical chemistry.

He was united in marriage Nov. 18, 1928 at Stratford to Mildred M. Johnson, and the couple resided in Des Moines and Minneapolis where Mr. Eslick was [remainder of the obituary is illegible].

Former Stratford Resident Dies

STRATFORD (Special) - Funeral services for a former Stratford resident, Audrey Q. Eslick of Lehigh, were held Friday afternoon in Webster City.

Mr. Eslick, an employee of the Lehigh Telephone company was to be retired this month and was nearly 65 years old. He was attending a telephone company meeting Wednesday when he died of a heart attack.

Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery near Stratford following the services at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Voss in charge.

Mr. Eslick is survived by his wife Mildred and several cousins.
