ASSUMPTION — William Gerald Clark, 103, of Assumption died 10:15 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 1, 2004) in Heritage Manor, Pana.
Masonic services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Assumption Christian Church followed by funeral services with Pastor John Coney officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until services in the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Assumption Christian Church or Bromwell Masonic Lodge 451.

Gerald was born July 30, 1901, in Blue Mound, the son of Charles and Amanda Pierson Clark. He lived most of his life in Assumption and was a retired meat cutter. He was a member of Assumption Christian Church. He was an 80-year member of Bromwell Masonic Lodge 451, where he served six terms as Worshipful Master and many years as secretary of the lodge. Mr. Clark served in the Army and was a member of the military band and later the Assumption Municipal Band. He married Alta Harbarger on Aug. 23, 1943, in Blue Mound.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years; daughter, Jeannie Erisman and husband Jack of Pana; Retha Lumb and husband Jim of Taylorville; son, Carl and wife Helen of Nokomis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Shefield of Tennessee; Lucille Myers of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandchild.
