Steve Marion Reynolds was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 15, 1845. Steve was well educated and of wealthy people.

The Civil War broke out when he was sixteen years old and he fought for the South. He was with Co. C Second Arkansas Mounted Rifles. His mother had T.B. during the war. The Yankees sat her out under an apple tree while they burned her home. She died shortly afterwards.

He knew 16 different steps (very good for those times). He was a good nurseryman and farmer and had good orchards. Died at the age of 51 years old of "Galloping Consumption". He never allowed liquor or a deck of cards in his house.
