Eddy was 61 years old and Linda was 60 years old. They both grew up in Memphis, TN and were married 40 years. They both worked for Bell South and transferred to Knoxville, TN where they retired. They were very active in Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Maryville, TN, and also participated in mission trips abroad. Much of their retired time was spent in volunteer work for the North American Mission Board. The couple were best friends. If you saw one, you saw the other.
Eddy is survived by Theron Childers, father, of Maryville, TN; and two brothers, Sam and Jeff Childers. Linda is survived by Conon Roberson, Jr. and stepmother, Jean Roberson of Maryville, TN; and a brother, Michael Stuart Roberson of Memphis; two nieces, Jacqulynn Walton and Abigail Roberson; two nephews, Christopher Roberson and Brian Roberson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Memphis Funeral Home - Germantown Parkway Chapel. Services will be at the same location at 4 p.m. Monday, June 25, with interment to follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 3508 Wildwood Road, Maryville, TN 37804, or the North American Mission Board, 4200 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022.
