Services for James Thomas Spees, 74, of the Freemont community will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hardmoney Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Pate and the Rev. Lester Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Hardmoney Baptist Church Cemetery.

He died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Spees was a retired solderer for Modine Manufacturing Co. and a member of Hardmoney Baptist Church.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 7.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Nell Pate Spees; one daughter, Trina S. Welker of Shelbyville; two sons, Daniel E. Spees of Freemont and John I. Spees of Centralia, Ill.; one brother, Charles F. Spees of Franklin, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were John Thomas Spees and Lillian Coleman Spees.

Friends may call after 6 this evening at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hardmoney Baptist Church Building Fund, 5351 State Route 1684, Boaz, KY 42027.
