FINAL RITES TODAY FOR MRS. LIDDY McCLELLAND, 85

Mrs. Liddy Ellen McClelland, age 85, mother of Leonard McClelland, Jackson township trustee and farmer and a resident on Rt. 2, Auburn, died at 5 p.m. Monday in the Butler rest home in Butler.

Mrs. McClelland had been in failing health for the past two years. Her death was attributed to complications of age. She had been a patient at the rest home for two years. Mrs. McClelland lived for about 50 years on a farm south of Corunna.

The body was removed to the Gerig funeral home in Auburn for burial preparations. The body will remain at the funeral home for services scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Arthur Morris of Corunna, pastor of the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren, will officiate at Thursday's rites with burial to follow in the Roselawn cemetery near Auburn.

Mrs. McClelland. a native of Noble county, was born Sept. 11, 1877. Her husband, Samuel W. McClelland, preceded her in death. Mrs. McClelland resided with her daughter. Mrs. Mary Raub of Fort Wayne, before entering the rest home.

Surviving, besides the son near Auburn and the daughter in Fort Wayne. are two other children, Charles McClelland of Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs. Clara Peckhart of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Ora Sparrow of Albion, Ind., and John Sparrow of Rome City; four sisters, Mrs. Minerva Smith, Ligonier, Mrs. Vada Tulford, Wawaka, Mrs. Alice Frain, Wolcottville and Mrs. Bertha McDonald of Wawaka: three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McClelland was a member of the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren.
