Death of Mrs. A. J. Alexander.
Mrs. A. J. Alexander, of Pueblo, Colorado, died in a hospital at Kansas City, Mo., whither she had been taken with the hope of the restoration of her health, on Wednesday, October 11. The remains were brought to LaFayette for interment and funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. J. M. Tucker at 10 o'clock on Saturday, October 15. The services were conducted by Rev. H. R. Arnold, assisted by Rev. J. M. McCleskey and Dr. W. C. Bledsoe. A large company of relatives and friends assembled to pay tribute to the memory of this much beloved Christian woman. Well known here, she was esteemed as a most consecrated Christian; her life was a beautiful illustration of the cheerful, happy spirit that grows out of a faith that never wavered and a hope that never grew dim, even in a long period of suffering that was hers. She leaves to mourn her death the husband, Mr. A. J. Alexander, two devoted daughters, Misses Louise and Callie, one sister, Mrs. John M. Tucker, and a great host of relatives and friends. Among the out-of-town relatives and friends who were present at the funeral were Mr. Robert Alexander, of Selma, Ala., Mrs. W. E. Taylor, of Mobile, Ala., Miss Haywood Molton, of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Kate Roby, of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Wilson Roby, of Auburn, Ala., Mrs. N. D. Denson and Mrs. Lizzie Duke, of Opelika, Ala., and Mrs. A. R. Noel, of Roanoke, Ala. The Sun joins with the many devoted friends in expressions of sympathy for the bereaved family.
