He was born Aug. 4, 1922 in Fisher, Ky. to Loren and Dora Pryor Carwile. He married Irene Fry on Aug. 3, 1946 in Bloomington. She passed away May 8, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Carwile; sister, Hazel Sweringen and nephew, Wendell.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Mullins, Bloomington; grandchildren, Ricky Quinn, Bloomington and Becky (Gary) McBroom, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Karen Anne, Matthew and Allison; brother, Ronald Carwile, Bloomington and nieces and nephews, Gene, Virginia, Loretta, Marilyn, Lawrence and Debbie.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a quartermaster 2nd class during World War II aboard the USS Indiana.
