BICKNELL-Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, May Forsyth Torgerson, age 93, died May 23, 1992 at the home of her daughter in Salt Lake City.

She was born September 25, 1898 in Thurber, Utah, a daughter of Charles D. and Sarah Elizabeth Simmons Forsyth. She married Alfred Ray Torgerson September 1, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died July 25, 1974. She supported her husband in his work for the Forest Service. She served as hostess to many important people. She had a fantastic sense of humor. She and her husband spent their retirement in Jarbidge, Nevada with many of their Nevada friends. Their grandkids enjoyed visiting them in Jarbidge, riding horses, and learning about the out-of-doors. She moved from Bicknell in 1984 to Salt Lake City, where she has since resided.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dan (Lois T. Hanson) Tatomer, Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; one great-grandson. Preceded in death by son, John Torgerson, and two daughters, Rae Sanborn, and Genevieve Ann Peterson, and three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 26, at 1:00 p.m., in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer-Turner Funeral Home, Richfield and Salina.
