He died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in the family home where he was born.
He was born July 22, 1928, and descended from a pioneer Lubbock family. He married Nell Rhodes on June 1, 1951.
He was a hybrid seed developer, businessman and a partner and vice president of Hybrid Grain Sorghum Research Ciba-Geigy and vice president of World Hybrid Cotton Research Ciba-Geigy. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1945 and earned a masters degree in agronomy from Texas Tech in 1952.
He was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church, past master and founder of Wolfforth-Frenship Blue Lodge No. 1447, a member of Yellowhouse No. 841 and MacKenzie No. 1327 Blue Lodges, a district deputy grand master, a 32nd degree KCCH Mason, a Shriner and a member of several York Rite chapters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Revier, and a grandson, Syd Hughes.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Rhodes Revier; two sons, Robert Revier of Lubbock and David Revier of Katy; two daughters, Paula Revier of San Antonio and Alice Hughes of Lubbock; a brother, Frank Revier of Loveland, Colo.; a step-grandchild and four grandchildren.
