The death of Mrs. Lucus Kantz occurred Monday afternoon at 2:50 o'clock at the family resident on the county farm gravel road northwest of the city. She had been ill for four weeks and hr demise is attributed to heart disease.
Deceased was born at Enkheim, near Frankfort on the Rhine, Germany, and came to this city with her parents in 1841. Mrs Kantz was a good neighbor and was greatly devoted to her family. She was one of the oldest members of the German Methodist church. She was married to Mr. Kantz in
Lafayette on September 7, 1851. She is survived by the husband and the following children; Mrs. Amelia McDonald, John, Tilman, Anthony, William, Mabel, George, Charles, Adam, and Frank, all of this city, except Adam, who
lives at Grand Rapids, Mich. Mrs. Theresa Buskirk, of Twelve Mile, Ind., is also a daughter of the deceased. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon.
Rev. Christian Baumann and Dr. Henry G. Amhyrst officiated. The internment was held at Greenbush cemetery.
