Arthur W. Moschkau, 93, of Turtle Lake died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at his home. He was born April 10, 1918 in the Bear Lake area to Emil and Minnie (Ernst) Moschkau. He was confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Almena. Art attended school in Turtle Lake. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930's and served with the United States Army during WW II. Art worked as a master cabinet maker.

He was a member of the Turtle Lake American Legion and served on the firing squad for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving.

Art was married June 21, 1941 in Turtle Lake to Harriet Ewer who preceded him in death on July 13, 1996. He was married in Almena, WI on September 13, 1998 to Esther Zell Koenig.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Moschkau of Turtle Lake; 2 daughters, Karen (Jim Sanders) Hansen of Rice Lake and Linda (Richard) Hermann of McGregor, MN; 2 sons, Carey (Charlene) Moschkau of Elk River, MN and Mark (Debbie) Moschkau of Turtle Lake; 4 stepsons, Larry (Penny) Koenig of St. Croix Falls, Jerry (Sue Ann) Koenig and Dale (Mary) Koenig, both of Turtle Lake, Stanley (Nancy) Koenig of Rice Lake; 4 stepdaughters, Diane (Ivan) Clarke of Chaska, MN, Beverly (John) Tempel and Betty (Gary) Dueholm, both of Turtle Lake and June (Paul) Hines of Clayton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bertha Anders of Amery, Emma Groom of St Louis, MO and Rose (Harold) Strasser of Turtle Lake. In addition to his first wife, Harriet, he was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter Meghan Mattson-Berglund, 1 stepdaughter, Eldora Williamson, 5 brothers and __ sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church - Almena with Rev. Clinton Hoff officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Turtle Lake. Pallbearers are Erich Moschkau, David Moschkau, Nick Moschkau, Adam Moschkau, John Koenig & Corey Koenig. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and for one hour before the services on Wednesday at the church.
