4/2/1942-Tuttle Times:

Miss Lavina Hartley was born 6/4/1856 and became a Christian joining the Cumberland Presbyterian church.

She married at Stockton, Cedar Co, MO to Allen Washington Petty on 11/5/1876 and they had 11 children, 10 of whom are living and were present at the funeral which was held here Friday at the Methodist church.

Grandmother Petty, as she was familiarly called here, passed away in her home in OKC March 25 after several months illness. She moved to OKC last August after living in this vicinity more than 33 years.

She leaves; her children, Mrs Carrie Kogar of Ponca City, Ora Petty of Maysville, MO, Mrs Fannie Gaye of St Joseph, MO, Mrs Gordia Price of Washington, OK, Ira & Don Petty of OKC, Glenn Rose Balton of San Antonio, TX, misses Dusta & Irma Petty of OKC, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 29 grandchildren, & 20 great- grandchildren. Six of her grandsons were pallbearers.
Rev E.H. Blumer conducted the service. She was laid to rest in Fairview cemetery next to her husband who preceeded her in death more than 10 years ago.
