Mary L. Kent, 85, of Lawrenceville died on Saturday at Capital Health System at Fuld. Born in Pennington, she had resided most of her life in Lawrenceville. She was the valedictorian of the Lambertville High School class of 1943. Mary was a retired bookkeeper with Trenton Printing and later with Capitol Bindery Company. She was a member of the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville. Mary loved animals and enjoyed gardening. She was especially fond of her two dogs, Hudson and Snickers. Daughter of the late William and Mary Beesburg Cook; wife of the late Thomas Patrick Kent and mother of the late Kevin Keith Kent, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Marianne Kent, and two grandchildren, Ami Kent and her companion, Dave Miles, and Keith P. Kent and his companion, Amanda Mulheron. Also surviving are two brothers, Louis and Robert Cook; two sisters, Jean Miller and Nancy Apgar; several nieces and nephews, and her caregiver, Anna Irutinov. The funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Ann. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Mary's name be made to the Parents of Murdered Children, 100 E. 8th St., Suite 202, Cincinnati, OH 45202, or to the Ewing Township Animal Shelter, 560 W.
