Ina I. Smith was born September 28,1907 at LaHarpe, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Edith Lamb Smith. She grew up in Durham Township, IL. She attended the Western Illinois University at Macomb for two years. She then taught at Victory School in Durham Township during 1928 and 1929. On April 19,1931, she married George E. Angell Sr. at Mt. Pleasant, IA. They lived in Hamilton and Warsaw, IL areas until they moved to Fort Madison in 1942. Ina worked at Model Laundry, Sheaffer Pen Company, and Troy Cleaners until her retirement in 1979. In 1986, she moved to Germantown, IL. At 94 years of age, Mrs. Angell died on Monday, August 12,2002 at the Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, IL. Greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Darlene Bentler, of Houghton,IA and Jean (Hank) Grapperhaus, of Germantown, IL; a sister, Viola Weinzierl, of Peoria,IL; 9 grandchildren. Other survivers include 13 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son George Angell, Jr., daughter Sylvia Ann Angell, grandsons Tom Grapperhaus and Joseph Bentler, brothers Merlin Smith and Raymond Smith, and a sister Violet Kowalski.
