ASSUMPTION -Lynn Darwin "Soap" Markwell, 80, of Assumption, died 2:54 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 25, 1995) in his daughter's residence, rural Assumption.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church, Assumption. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials: Assumption First United Methodist Church or Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice.

Mr. Markwell was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Stonington, a son of Ray and Sarah Louise Coffey Markwell. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Assumption First United Methodist Church and the Bromwell Masonic Lodge 451. He married Kathryn N. Reinhardt on March 14, 1936, in Blue Mound. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1985.

Surviving are his daughter, Lynne Kaye Bilyeu and husband Don W. of Assumption; granddaughters, Renee Bilyeu of Morton; Kathy Garner and husband Michael of Assumption; greatgrandson, Spencer Garner of Assumption; brother, James of Taylorville; sister, Lois Morphew of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers.
