Mrs. James Mirise, a well known resident of Roscoe, died yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Crickard, in Delaware, Ohio, where she had been staying for several months.
The cause of death was heart disease, which followed an attack of la grippe. Her age is 64 years.
Remains will arrive here this morning on train fromthe west about 10 o'clock, and interment will take place at Roscoe Cemetery at 3 o'clock this afternoon, with funeral services at her son's residence, L. R. Mirise, Roscoe.

Mrs. James Mirise, an old resident of Coshocton county, died Monday morning, June 6, 1892, aged 64 years, 2 months, and 18 days. At the time of her death she was living with her daughter, Mrs. James Crickard in Delaware, Ohio. Her health had not been very good ever since she had la grippe in the winter, although her sickness was not though to to be serious until the latter part of March, when she was taken seriously ill. A physician was summoned and he pronounced the nature of her disease organic heart trouble.
Sabbath, the day before she died, she walked out in the yard and seemingly was much better. In the evening upon retiring she complained of shortness of breath. About 2 o'clock Monday morning she called to her daughter and said she believed she was going this time. Her physician was immediately summoned but she grew rapidly worse and at 4 o'clock passed peacefully away without a struggle, to sleep until the resurrection morn. She was conscious until the very last. She knew from the first her dangerous condition and was therefore prepared when the summons came. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Mrs. A. E. Gregg of Pittsburgh, L. M. Mirise of Roscoe, Mrs. James Crickard of Delaware, and a brother, Cap't S. M. Baldwin of Butler Center, Iowa.
Brief funeral services were held at her home in Delaware, conducted by Rev. Thomas of St. Paul's church, after which the remains were taken to her old home in Roscoe for interment. There the funeral service proper took place June 8th at 2 o'clock from the M. E. Church of Roscoe, conducted by Rev. Lea and Rev. Donaldson. After the services were conducted she was laid to rest by the side of her husband, James Mirise, who preceded her to the better world three years.
Mrs. James Mirise was born March 19, 1828 and was married Oct 19, 1848 {records show 16 Oct 1847}. Her young life was spent on her father's farm in Mill Creek township. She joined the Baptist church when quite young. There being no church of her own denomination near their home she attended her husband's church, the M. E. church. She had a lovely christian character, always ready and willing to do something to help and make others happy.

Died October 1st in Winterset, Iowa, Mr. Smith Baldwin in his 63rd year. He was formerly a resident of Mill Creek Township, this county, and was the eldest brother of Mrs. James Mirise, of Roscoe.
