Mrs. Elsie Scamp Barber of
Rockford, former well known
resident of this community, passed
away Sunday at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Hale
in Rockfprd, following a few
weeks illness.
Mrs. Barber, was born on February
14, 1892, in rural Sycamore
where she grew to young womanhood.
She was the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weltzien, both
of whom have passed away.
The decedent is survived by
her husband E. Barber, one son,
Stuart E. Scamp, a daughter, Mrs.
Hale of Rockford, one sister, Mrs.
Edward Lindstrom of Sycamore
and several nieces and nephews.
Final rites were held this Tuesday
afternoon at 1:00 o-clock
from the McAllister Funeral Home
in Rockfordy with the Rev. B. E.
Allen, of the First Baptist church,
officiating. Following the services
in Rockford, the funeral cortege
proceeded to Sycamore where the
interment took place in the family
lot in the Elmwood cemetery here.

Friends here have learned of
the passing of Mrs. Elsie Scamp, a
former resident here, at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Russell
Hale in Loves Park, Rockford on
Saturday evening. Burial was on
Tuesday afternoon in Sycamore.
