Mary Louise "Peggy" Thorp age 74, of Stumphole Bridge Road, Williams, left this world to be with the Lord on Friday at 7:20 p.m. at her residence.

Peggy was born on April 25, 1936, in North Vernon, to Guy E. and Charity (Rose) Ray. She married Alan Thorp on March 30, 1957, in Brownsburg, and he survives.

Peggy worked in the office of Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, secretary to commissary office at Camp Lejuene, N.C., worked for Indiana State Department of Health, Lawrence County Council on Aging, and she also owned a gift shop in Williams. She also was very instrumental in developing "HIS HANDS EXTENDED," a ministry to help people in need in Lawrence County. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Bedford.

Survivors include her husband Alan Thorp of Williams; two sons, Craig Thorp and wife Angela of Bedford, Steven Thorp and wife Sandra of Williams; grandchildren, Jade, Lara, Candace, Alex, Brett, Briana and Ashley; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Reise, and Aliana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters, Warren Penn, Marcelle Penn, Walter Penn, Charles Penn, Sharon Ray and Virginia Amstutz

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First Assembly of God, 2601 27th St. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday the church.
