Born in Timpson, Texas to Joseph Lee and Allie Salina Ramsey-Crump on October 25, 1896 he grew up with two sisters and a brother. His military service began on March 28, 1918 as a Private. On August 25th he was sent to Officer Training School where he graduated as a Second Lieutenant. He served at Camp Gordon, Georgia with the 6th Infantry Replacement Regiment until his honorable discharge on December 2, 1918. He would go on to serve in World War II also. Passed at the age of 98.
