Mrs. Kate Anderson (nee Johnson)
Mrs. Kate Anderson was born March 19th, 1860, at Ugglebo Parish, Gefleforgs Province Sweden, and passed away at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. John Casperson at Everett, Washington at 2:35 a.m. July 27, 1944 at the ripe old age of 84 years, four months and nine days. She came to America with her parents and only sister when a young girl. They made their home in Illinois for a number of years then moved to Iowa, where she was united in marriage to George Anderson on the 14th day of October, 1880, at Sheriton, Logus County, Iowa. To this union nine children were born. her husband, one daughter and one son have preceded her in death. Mr. Anderson passed away April 29, 1903; Mrs. Inez Peterson (nee Anderson) passed away March 19, 1921, and Axel passed away June 15, 1939. Left to mourn are Victor of Alma; Mrs. Hannah Tubman of Lincoln; Carl of Sutton; Eddie of Clay Center; Willard of Harvard and Mrs. Laurena Casperson of Everett, Washington. fifteen grand children and one great granddaughter, besides a large number of relatives and a host of friends. She was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother, and a very good neighbor and friend.
The funeral was held from the Sutton Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Dr. Wallace P. A. Humphris in charge. the music was furnished by a male quartette consisting of Theo. E. Lester and Bernard Nelson and Lorraine Aspegren with Mrs. Theo. R. Nelson at the piano. The following songs were sung. "Home of the Soul", "Rock of Ages", and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye". The pallbearers were Victor, Carl, Eddie, Leonard and Willard Anderson and Harvie Tubman.
The burial was in the family lot in the Saronville M. E. cemetery. May she rest in peace.
