Lonnie was the son of Richard and Norma (Horner) Combs. He was born on April 21, 1950 in Bradleyville, Taney, Missouri , where he spent his life helping others on the job and if he could help anyone he was there for them.

On august 29, 1969 he and Linda Jennings were married at her parents home in McClurg, Mo. They would have celebrated their 42 anniversary on August 29,they were the parents of two children.

Lonnie loved traveling with the family, golfing and hunting and fishing.He loved to play with the grandchildren and his family was the most important thing to him.

He was a member of the 1968 Championship basketball team. The team was inducted into the Mo Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. He entered the army in 1970 and was stationed in Germany.

He founded Southern Construction in 1981 and would have celebrated 30 years in the business in September. His employees were considered his extended family.

For several years Lonnie and Linda sponsored a Fourth of July Celebration at his company headquarters in Brownbranch, which people came of as far away an Idaho came to enjoy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Norma, a sister Freida & her husband Robert, and his father-in -law, Lloyd Jennings.

He is survived by wife Linda , his daughter, Shelly Combs Lacher & husband Nathan, St. Louis, his son Justin & wife Nikki, Oldfield , Mo, 3 grandchildren , Mother -in-law, Louise Jennings,Brother Roy Combs & wife,Debbie, Taneyville,Steve Combs & wife Dee, Bradleyville , a sister Donna Herd ,Willow Springs,brother and sister in law Randall and Becky Cummings, Brown Branch.

Services were held at the White River Association building in Taneyville.

Burial followed at the Patterson Cemetery south of Bradleyville.

Clinkingbeards of Ava,Mo were in charge of arrangements.
