Mr. Mansfield was born October 24,1877, in Plymouth county and farmed here until filing on a claim near Harold, S. D., where he engaged in farming and livestock raising until retiring twenty five years ago and returning to the Westfield area. He never married.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Mansfield was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic church, Westfield. He was an upright, industrious citizen and highly respected among many friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held Friday forenoon at St. Joseph Catholic church, Ellendale, Rev. Edward Mason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
