MRS. HENRY STROTHMAN
Mrs. Emma Catherne [sic] Strothman nee Haake, daughter of Mr. Fred Haake and his wife Anna nee Klaus, was born September 8, 1888 near Daykin, Nebraska. She was baptized in early infancy and later was confirmed in the faith of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In the year 1913, on March 23, she was united in holy wedlock to Henry Strothman. Seven children blessed this union, two of whom (Roy and Ruth) preceded her in death. Some eight or ten years ago she was stricken with a heart affliction. At times her ailment was quite severe but she bore her cross with Christian faith and fortitude relying on the promises of the Lord. For the comfort of her soul and the forgiveness of her sins she faithfully partook of the Lord's Supper. She was a life-long, faithful and active member of her church. Last Sunday as she was preparing to attend church with her family she collapsed but was revived and seemed to be out of danger when she suddenly passed out of this life from a coronary thrombosis. Thus she answered the final summons of her Lord. She died in the faith of her Redeemer about 1:30 Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her faithful husband; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie Jarchow and Mrs. Harold Hinzmann, both of Daykin and Mrs. Keith Thobald of Ohiowa; two sons, Ralph and Dale of Daykin; six grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Henry of Wahoo, Nebr., Miss Minnie Haake, Mrs. Arthur Strothman, Mrs. Dewey Hohenseee, and Mrs. Glenn Brown, all of Daykin; three brothers, John of Wilhelmina, Oregon, Fred of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Herman of Daykin; other relatives and a host of friends.
May her body rest in the bosom of the earth and her soul repose with her Lord until reunited on that great and final day of the Lord!
Funeral services were held Nov. 15, 1951 at the home at 1:30 and at the St. John's Lutheran church with burial in the church cemetery, and music by Mrs. Leonard Maschman. Pallbearers were Charles Kleine, Wm. Kleine, John Kleine, Herbert Nielson,[sic-Nielsen], Albert Nielson [sic-Nielsen] and Henry Bartels.
