CONRAD EDWIN "ED" THARP

A summary of the obit published in the Yuma Pioneer March 16, 1933 follows.

C. E. (Ed) Tharp accidently shot and killed himself with a small caliber rifle as he was climbing over a fence near the cemetery, east of Yuma, Monday morning.

Services will be at the M. E. Church today. Interment will be at the Yuma Cemetery.

Edward Tharp was born Feb. 29, 1872, to Conrad and Margaret Tharp in Davis Co., Iowa and died at Yuma, Colorado Monday March 13, 1933 at the age of 61. On March 28, 1893, in Iowa, he married Minnie Duffy. They lived in Iowa until they moved to Yuma in 1918. Ed held a position with Yuma Lumber Company until June, five years ago. He then built the Golden Rod service station and operated the station until December 22 of last year, when he leased it.

He leaves his wife, one daughter, Pearl (Mrs. George) Ireland and a son, Max Tharp. Four sisters and three brothers; Mrs. Mary Elder, Mrs. Sarah Ellison, Mrs. Maggie Clark, Mrs. Laura Coltrain, William Tharp, Charles Tharp and Robert Tharp. (Posted by Linda Zion)
