Cooper

Nelson S. Cooper passed away Saturday, May 23, after failing health for several months. He died of paralysis, was confined to his bed however only some ten days.

His funeral was conducted by Rev. F.J. Stinson of the Christian church at 10 a.m. Monday and his body was laid in the West cemetery.

Nelson S. Cooper was born in Rochester county, Iowa, September 10, 1851. He came to kansas in 1873 and was married to Miss Ida Soule in 1875. Their four children survive him, Mrs. Minnie Rogers, Mrs. Reigh Fordham, of Wichita, Charles Cooper of Pueblo, Colorado and Guy C. Cooper who is still at home with his mother in the southwest part of El Dorado.

Mr. Cooper was thoroughly devoted to his family, was tender and loving husband and father. He was a member of the Christian church and held $1,000 policy of insurance in favor of Mrs. Cooper in the Maccabees. He will be greatly missed by all those with whom he has been most closely associated here.
