Mrs. C. J. Hanson (Dina) died at a Valley City hospital at six o'clock Monday morning, May 24, 1909. She has been in poor health for several years and last week was again taken critically ill and the doctors decided upon an operation as the last chance of saving her life. She apparently rallied from the operation when a relapse came and death ensued.
The deceased, who was a daughter of Mrs. Edward Olson, was born in Drammen, Norway, April 14, 1872 and came to this country at an early age. She married C. J. Hanson, one of Litchville's popular machine dealers in 1893. Their union has been blessed by two children: Arthur and Mabel.
The funeral occurred Wednesday forenoon at 10 o'clock from the Skandia Lutheran Church, Rev. Nesvig officiating. Mrs. James Brennan sang an impressive solo. The funeral was very largely attended testifying to the esteem in which she was held by all who knew her.
Pallbearers were: Sven Peterson, J. N. Lekvold, John Olson, H. L. Hansen, Olaf Hansen and A. M. Hansen. The remains were interred in the cemetery south of town.
The Bulletin offers its sincere sympathy to the sorrowing husband and children. May she rest in peace after a short but well-spent life. She died in the faith of her Redeemer and is now, we fondly hope, in the mansions of the blest where tears, suffering and death shall not enter in.
