Elbert T. Baird Passes Away
Last week we learned of the death of Elbert T. Baird, of near Virgelle, death occurring at the St. Clare hospital on Monday noon, following an illness of ten months from heart trouble. Mr. Baird was about 72 years of age and had resided in the Virgelle section since 1916. Mr. Baird followed farming all his active years, retiring about two years ago and has since made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Herman Schultz, at Virgelle. He was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. He was a man of kindly disposition, of quiet, even temperment, of clean life and habits; and was a devoted husband and father; an honest citizen and a true friend and neighbor.
He is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Schultz, and one son, Theodore, who resides at Deer Lodge; four sisters and five brothers, all residing in Washington, with the exception of one living in Idaho; by two grandchildren and a host of friends who will mourn his departure.
Funeral services were held from the Louther chapel on Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by the Rev. Joel R. Benton. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
