ANOTHER OLD SOLDIER
ANSWERS LAST ROLL CALL

_______

W.L. Henry

Another grand old soldier and pioneer of Wayne county passed away Sunday evening in the death of W. L. Henry at his home on East Anthony Street after a lingering illness of considerable duration.

He was 89 years of age, having been born March 15, 1835. Death came as a relief from long suffering and failing health. He was an honorable upright citizen and an affectionate father. While a young man he heard the call of his country and enlisted in the union army and served with honor until the close of the war over three years. For a great many years he has been a resident of Wayne county and has enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He was a staunch and true republican and was elected a member of the board of supervisors a place he filled with honor.

For over twenty years he has been a resident of Corydon and has brought up his children in this community all of whom are a credit to the communities in which they live. He leaves a faithful wife, four daughters and a son and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) at the home at 2:30 and burial was made at Cambria. we will publish a complete obituary next issue.
