My parents were married for 55 years before my Mom passed away from complications of dementia. They'd celebrated their 50th anniversary in Danville, NH at BelleGrace Farm, my sister's farm. Family members and friends attended from as far away as California. She happily moved around the country & to Japan and back with my Dad as he served in the Air Force for almost 25 years and she kept the family going through the year that he served in DaNang, Vietnam. She grew up in Arlington with her older brother Billy & younger brother Dick and was a lifetime member of Park Avenue Congregational Church for over 55 years. Her fondest memories were of being in the choir there and after having throat/voice issues, she was unable to continue to sing although she looked forward to returning to it at some point. She was a former volunteer for the Ronald McDonald house in Boston and worked as an in-home caretaker for many years. Among her favorite patients was Sarah Caldwell's (Boston Opera House Director) mother. For their anniversary in 1996, my Dad surprised her with a cruise to Bermuda - they had a great time! She made a Pilgrimage to Isreal years ago with a group of people from Canada, including her cousin, Major Clarence Bradbury (Salvation Army) and it was one of the highlights of her life. She was by the sides of her parents as they were in hospice care at home & tirelessly took care of them until they passed and with two favorite uncles, Uncle Bert and Uncle Johnny when they passed away. She always gave so much of herself to family and friends.
She is greatly missed by all of her family...her love, caring, loyalty and kindness were felt by all that knew her.
