Dorothy M. Baker, 90, Hastings, died Wednesday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Houtzdale, daughter of the late Ellis I. and Violet (Parks) Maines. She married Walter H. Baker on July 3, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2012.

Surviving are two sons: Kenneth (Phyllis E.) of Cherry Tree and Terry (Phyllis A.) of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, Diane of Patton; five grandchildren: Brian, Mark, Michelle, Luke and Melissa; and seven great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Brian, Derek, Brady, Hanna Rose and Ricky Nelson. She is also survived by her Valley View family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Nelson W. Sr.; and a grandson, Nelson W. Jr.

Dorothy enjoyed canning, baking, Westerns and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grand-dogs.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service today, Oct. 25, 2013, at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 333 Beaver St., Hastings, Pastor Joyce Mitchell and Father Dennis Kurdziel officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
