ENGLISH, VIVIAN VIRGINIA Vivian English of Lemon Grove passed away on March 14.
She had just celebrated her 80th birthday December 30, 2001. She had been a
resident of the San Diego area since 1935 and graduated from Hoover High School,
class of 1940. Vivian's family remembers her for so many qualities: her warm and
loving personality; her sense of humor (which would often catch one by
surprise); her hearty, delicious cooking-the focus of many memorable family
meals and celebratons, her graciousness and her ability to put any guest in her
home at east (she was truly a gifted hostess!); and, of course-her lovely blue
eyes, striking posture and ever meticulous appearance. A beautiful woman both
inside and out, Vivian is perhaps most cherished for her lifelong, intense and
abiding love for her family: her husband of over fifty years, Donald, with whom
she shared a rare and special closeness; her only child, Shari, of whom she was
so proud and loved so dearly, her son-in-law Charlie, her four grandchildren;
Desiree, Charlie, Catherine, and Laurie, and ten great-grandchildren, all of
whom she actively doted on and adored her entire life.
