Lucinda was the sixth child of John Doty & Margaret Reid Jewell. She married Hiram Ross around 1855. They lived in Iowa until 1866 and then moved to Oregon. They had 3 children: Lenora, Orianna (Anna) and Laura. She died of uremia.
