PIONEER WARD WORKER DIES—Mrs. Mary Jane Baddley Newton, 84, life-long resident of Salt Lake City and oldest member of the Tenth LDS ward in point of service, died Wednesday at 12:50 a.m. at her residence, 322 Tenth East street, of causes incident of age.

A native of Salt Lake City, she was born March 14, 1854, a daughter of George and Eliza Parker Baddley, and had been an ardent church worker all her life. She was the widow of Hyrum Newton.

Surviving are seven sons and daughters; Mrs. Nellie Oswald, Mrs. Nida Barker, Mrs. Mary Harvey Grew, Leslie Newton and Mrs. Bessie Martin of Salt Lake City; Hyrum Newton Jr. of Hunter and Mrs. Leah Mackay of Beverly Hills, California; 33 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, a brother and sister, Henry O. Baddley and Mrs. Maria Rossiter, both of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Tenth ward chapel by Bishop Thomas B. Child. Interment will be in City cemetery. Friends may call at the residence, 322 Tenth East street, Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:35 p.m.
