Bradford, James Raleigh On Friday morning, March 4, 2005, our dear loved one, James R. Bradford, was called by God to end his earthly suffering and receive his eternal reward. We loved him dearly, but God loved him best.

James was born to the late Hartzel Bradford and Beatrice Hayes Bradford in Baton Rouge.

He was educated in East Baton Rouge and St. Helena parishes and attended Southern University. He was a retired employee of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. He joined Camphor United Methodist Church at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Leroy Fields. A faithful member for more than 70 years, he served as secretary of the United Methodist Men, church secretary, member of the adult Sunday school class and church custodian. He was an avid sports fan, especially football and basketball. He dearly loved his family and was a proud father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gordon Bradford, Baton Rouge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Willie Brown and Barbara and Isadore Brown; a son, James A. Bradford; eight grandchildren, Anne Brown, Baton Rouge, Isadore Brown III, Houston, James David, Tory and Trey Brown and James Knox, all of Baton Rouge, and William "Kiki" Brown and Wahrena Pfeister, both of South Korea; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia Bradford Moore; a nephew, C.
