Taken from the "Indianapolis News" (IN), Friday, July 22 1881:

Joseph Overton, of Martinsburg, was engaged in building, and placed a large piece of timber upon his shoulder to carry from a distance to the barn, and while doing so stumbled and fell with the piece of timber upon his left breast, crushing it in and killing him instantly.
